Why Adam and Nichola Started Bebe Bitez

Bebe Bitez began in our own kitchen, not a boardroom.

Like many parents, we wanted the very best for our children, Lilly and Jack. We believed that the food they ate every day should help them grow stronger, think more clearly, and feel confident in their bodies. But when they began attending childcare, we were faced with a reality we couldn’t ignore.

Our Story

The food being served in many schools wasn’t created with children’s long-term health in mind. It was designed for convenience. It was processed. It was disconnected from farms, from seasons, and from the care that young children deserve.

And we realized something that changed everything:
If this is what our children were being served, then this is what millions of children were being served.

That moment stayed with us. We couldn’t look away.

We kept asking ourselves:
Why should healthy, organic, thoughtfully prepared food be a privilege? Why shouldn’t every child have access to it every single day?

That question became the beginning of Bebe Bitez.

Our Children Inspired Everything

Lilly and Jack are the heart of this company.

Every recipe, every ingredient, every partnership is guided by the same standard we hold in our own home. We believe food in the early years is not just about nutrition—it is about potential. It is about brain development, immune resilience, emotional well-being, and the lifelong relationship a child forms with food.

We watched our children discover new flavors, learn to love vegetables, and build confidence around eating. And we realized that these early experiences shape not only health, but identity.

We wanted every child to have that same opportunity—to feel nourished, supported, and valued.

Because when a child is nourished, they are more ready to learn, to connect, and to thrive.

Rooted in Farming and Respect for the Land

This mission is deeply personal.

Nichola grew up on a farm, where she learned that food begins long before it reaches a plate. She saw the early mornings, the unpredictability, the resilience, and the deep care required to grow food the right way. She learned that farmers are stewards of the land, protectors of soil, and guardians of future generations.

That experience shaped how both of us see the world.

Today, we carry that respect into everything we do. We partner with local farmers not only because the food is better—but because strong communities begin with strong farms. When farmers are supported, land is protected. When land is protected, children and families thrive.

We believe schools have the power to become anchors of local food systems—creating stability and opportunity for the people who grow our food, and reconnecting children to where their meals come from.

The Real Struggles Behind the Journey

Building Bebe Bitez has been one of the most challenging and meaningful journeys of our lives.

We started with limited resources and an idea that felt bigger than us. We balanced raising Lilly and Jack while cooking late into the night and waking before sunrise to deliver meals. There were moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and fear.

There were moments when it would have been easier to stop.

But every time we walked into a school and saw children eating fresh, real food—sometimes for the very first time—we felt something powerful.

We saw children trying new foods.
We saw teachers relieved and supported.
We saw parents feeling peace of mind.
We saw possibility.

And we knew this work mattered.

Our Mission for the Future

Our mission is clear:
Bebe Bitez exists to ensure every child—regardless of background or demographics—has access to the highest-quality local food through school lunches, while strengthening our communities by supporting the best local farmers on the planet.

We believe access to nourishing food should never depend on income, zip code, or circumstance. Food is not just fuel. It is the foundation of lifelong health, confidence, and opportunity.

Our vision is bold.

We are building a future where:

  • Every childcare center and school has access to organic, thoughtfully prepared meals

  • Nutrition becomes a core part of early childhood education

  • Schools feel supported and empowered

  • Parents trust what their children eat every day

  • Local farmers thrive and land is preserved for future generations

  • Communities become stronger, healthier, and more resilient

  • Food systems become more equitable and sustainable

We are not just delivering meals.

We are building a movement.

A movement where children grow up connected to real food.
Where farmers are valued.
Where schools become centers of health and community.
Where every child—no matter where they come from—has the chance to reach their full potential.

Because when we nourish children, we nourish the future.

Our mission at Bebe Bitez

We’re also addressing the broader issue of nutrition in schools. Currently, more than 20 million children in the U.S. rely on school meals, many of which are filled with processed, unhealthy ingredients. Research shows that 1 in 5 children in the U.S. is obese, often due to poor diet. School meals are a key contributor, with over 90% failing to meet USDA nutrition guidelines. We believe that by starting early with better food and better education, we can turn this around and improve children’s health for life.

When it comes to farm-to-school initiatives, there are significant benefits for children’s nutrition, the local economy, and education. Studies show that schools incorporating farm-to-table programs see up to a 28% increase in fruit and vegetable consumption among students. Moreover, students become more engaged when they learn where their food comes from, which can lead to lifelong healthy eating habits. Additionally, farm-to-school programs support local agriculture, keeping more than $1 billion in local economies across the U.S. while promoting sustainability and healthier school meals.

By bringing farm-to-preschool, Bebe Bitez aims to elevate these benefits for even younger children, ensuring they start their lives with a connection to wholesome, local food.

Nichola Buckley - Founder & CEO

Hi there! I'm Nichola, Mom/Mum (I am from England) of two adorable kiddos: Lilly, who’s a spirited three-year-old, and Jack, our sweet five-month-old. Becoming a mom has been the most transformative experience of my life. It shifted my priorities and opened my eyes to the critical importance of what we feed our children.

As I navigated motherhood, I became deeply concerned about the prevalence of diet-related diseases in children. I realized that we could do so much more to ensure our little ones grow up healthy and strong. This inspired me to embark on a mission: to eradicate diet-related diseases in children.

I believe that the key to achieving this lies in better products, better education about nutrition, greater access to high-quality ingredients, and stricter guidelines on what should and shouldn’t be in foods targeted at kids.

With this passion, I founded Bebe Bitez, a Kids food company dedicated to creating wholesome, staged allergen introduction meals for babies. Our mission goes beyond just providing nutritious food—we're creating a movement to transform the way we nurture our children’s health right from birth.

At Bebe Bitez, we strive to ensure that every bite our children take is a step towards a healthier, brighter future.

Join us on this journey to make the world a healthier place for our children, one meal at a time. Together, we can make a difference and give our kids the best possible start in life.

Adam White - Founder & Chief Daddy Officer

Hi, I'm Adam, Nichola’s husband and daddy to Lilly and Jack, engineer and weekend racing driver. Our family has always loved cooking together, whether it's curries in the kitchen, pizzas in the pizza oven, or my personal favorite, souvlaki on the grill. There's nothing we enjoy more than a garden full of family and friends on a hot summer's day with plenty of delicious food.

Naturally, when our kids started eating solids, we wanted to include them in this passion. However, as a busy working dad, I found myself increasingly frustrated with the limited options available for kids - especially when we were out and about. While we love to cook, there are times when we need quick and convenient meals - up at the racetrack for example. Unfortunately, the choices we found often were seriously unhealthy and had a long list of ingredients or were sweetened with fruit, which didn’t meet our standards.

That's why we created Bebe Bitez. I wanted to create better options not just for my kids, but for all kids, ensuring that even on the busiest days, parents can provide healthy and tasty meals for their little ones.

With Bebe Bitez, we focus on using high-quality, wholesome, locally sourced ingredients to make nutritious and delicious meals that kids love and parents can trust.

It’s our mission to make mealtime easier and more enjoyable for families everywhere, without compromising on quality or taste.
